Amandus Daniel Wertman, 89, of Kingsland, Texas passed away peacefully March 10, 2017. He was born to Amandus Ira and Carrie Elizabeth (Bolich) Wertman on September 22, 1927 in East Brunswick, Pennsylvania.

After proudly service the United States of America in the United States Army, Dan married his wife Sophie. Dan and his wife Sophie owned and operated Wertman's White/Elna Sewing Center in Slatington, Pennsylvania for over thirty years. Dan performed sewing machine repairs while Sophie was a professional seamstress and taught sewing classes. Eventually they retired to travel, and in the early 1990's moved to Texas to be near Sophie's sister.

Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 o'clock P.M. Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Park Road 4, Burnet, Texas. The Highland Lakes Honor Guard will do the military honors. An online guest register may be signed at www. PutnamCares.com
