Irene P. Van Norman, 89, of Kingsland, Texas passed away on August 9, 2015. She was born to Elmer and Edith (Kastonek) Schafer on December 24, 1925 in Chisholm, Minnesota.

Mrs. Van Norman was a legal secretary for many years, and was an executive secretary at Pennwalt Corporation. She enjoyed music, fishing, watching baseball and hockey.

Irene is survived by her sons, Larry Van Norman of Dyer, Indiana, and Thomas Van Norman of San Luis Obispo, California, granddaughters, Holly Maurer and her husband Greg of Crete, Illinois and Michele McManmon of Los Angeles, California, grandson Christopher Van Norman and his wife Kathleen of South Lyon, Michigan, great-grandsons, Nolan and Colin Maurer and Lucas Van Norman, brother Darrell Schafer of Chisholm, Minnesota, and partner, Lowell Carter of Kingsland, Texas and numerous other friends and relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Vernon Van Norman, brothers, Arnold, Dave and Richard (Bud) and sisters, Peggy, Hazel and June and daughter-in-law Donna Van Norman.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. " 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland, Texas. Graveside services will held at 9:30 O'Clock A.M., Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet, Texas with Reverend Richard Vandeventer.0 officiating.
