Joyce Aileen Adler Schiber, 84 of Granite Shoals, Texas left us the way she lived her life, HER way. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford "Skip" Schiber. Her surviving family includes her children, Steve & his wife Pat, of Wimberly, TX, Tony & his wife, Kathleen, of Lewisville, TX and her daughter, Melissa & her husband, Steve Hoffnagle of Plano, TX and Don Taylor, her loving partner who took great care of her. Grandchildren, Michael & Brandy Schiber, Jenny & Matt Kyle, Tiffany Schiber, Brittany & Casey McKinney and Laura Lower; Great-grandchildren, Hunter & Anjalee Kyle, Brooklyn Schiber and future great-grandsons, Everett & Hudson Schiber. She is also survived by two sisters, Polly Dalton and Delores Nix.

Joyce was a vivacious person who gave love and support to all who passed through her life. She was a fighter, never giving up, not when her home burned to the ground in 1994 taking all their possession nor when she had a massive stroke in 2001. The doctors were not sure she would ever leave the facility. She not only left, she walked out and kept getting up for the next 17 years despite all the "difficulties" thrown her way. She showed the strength and love that made her Mom, Grandma and Gram Gram. She hasn't stopped now but rather will continue to live through the family she raised to stand up for themselves and never give up the fight -- Rather to do it their way!
