Obituary

Ray Frady, age 84, took his last breath in peace at his home in Burnet, Texas on the evening of February 17, 2018.
Born November 27, 1933 in Tyler, Texas to Lillian and L.C. Frady, he attended the University of Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Helen, before graduating in 1956.
"Coach," as he was best known, dedicated the next fifty years of his life to coaching and mentoring through his roles as a high school football coach and summer camp director. As a young coach, he helped lead San Angelo High School to a state championship before moving on to become the head football coach at Burnet High School. While there, he created a lasting legacy of "Spirit, Pride and Honor," and is remembered for his success on the football field and his support for the Burnet community. Despite leaving coaching in 1978, he never stopped teaching and the values he instilled in others as Boys Camp Director at Camp Longhorn carry on today. He greeted others with a firm handshake and a gentle smile and taught those he knew, by way of example, to "treat others the way you want to be treated."
He is survived by wife of 62 years Helen Bohn Frady, daughter Pam "Blue" Alden, grandchildren Jonathan "J-Bird" Alden (wife Lisa), Nick "Slick" Alden, Lindsay "Loon" Alden (husband Stefan), and dog Coco. Fittingly, he will rest in peace alongside his longtime canine partner-in-crime Queenie.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on February 25, 2018 at Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nick's school, Chinquapin Preparatory School for economically disadvantaged students, at www.chinquapin.org, or to a charity of your choosing.
Arrangements were made by Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
