Wayne Powell of Burnet, Texas died at home on Wednesday, August 9, 2018 surrounded by family.

He was born in Alma, Arkansas on September 8, 1938 to Doyel J. and Mabel Gray (Manes) Powell. He lived in Burnet County for 40 years after moving from Kansas.
Wayne enjoyed being a life-long truck driver and being with family. He was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Stewart Powell of 40 years; three daughters, Linda Casto and husband Ken of Topeka, Kansas; Dana Specht and husband Ed of Glasco, Kansas; Sharla Powell of Hutchinson, Kansas; three step-children Barbara McBride and husband Ken of Cottonwood Shores, Texas; Johnny Williams and Wanda Kalina of Paige, Texas; and Steven Williams and Melissa Jennings of Surfside Beach, Texas. Also, three sisters, Sara Patterson and husband Larry of Ozark, Missouri; Ann Kinyon and husband Sid of Stockton, Missouri; Carla Mitchell and husband Gary of Joplin, Missouri. Ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
